Following the big battle in the nexus, Leon stayed behind for a bit to deal with the aftermath, then returned to his apartment to clean up and change clothes. He was exhausted by then, in both mind and body. He could use some rest, but after getting cleaned up, he had planned on heading over to the STARS base to check on everyone. He could rest later.

However, in a last second change of plans, Leon decided to disappear for a while. He had neither his phone nor his PINpoint with him, and even more strangely, he didn't have his guns, knife, or badge with him either. All those items were left behind on the counter in his apartment.

Wherever he is, there's no way to reach him or track him. Also no way to tell when he would be back...

Now that Leon knew he'd have a place with the STARS team, as a liaison for STRATCOM, he wasn't sure if that would make talking to Claire about her joining STARS easier, or more difficult. This is the first time that work has been an issue, or at least a major factor, for them. Not that he would be her boss, but he didn't want her to think that this was some kind of recruiting drive on his part.

He figured he was being silly, though. He knew Claire, but more importantly, Claire knew him. She would know he wouldn't push her into something like this.

He also knew why she was hesitating. She had her reasons, all of which were very good reasons not to join. He truthfully didn't know what to tell her, but he didn't need to know. He wasn't there to talk so much as to listen.

Of course, to talk or listen, he'd actually have to find Claire, so he set out to look for her.

It was quite a long flight from where Leon had been to get to DC. He had to sit though a few meetings, but nothing more strenuous than that. On the upside, not only was he back on vacation, it was extended until the end of August, and he'd have a new field assignment when he returned. He'd have to contact Hunnigan at his convenience for details.

As for Salazar and Hips? Leon was finished with them. He helped build the case against each of them, now it was up to the lawyers the courts to do what they do. And he was more than happy to let him. Leon did his job, he did it well, and he did it with honor, so he could walk away from this with his head held high.

He stopped off at his apartment and did a brief check of the nexus feeds. He didn't really read what everyone had to say on the subject of Hips and Ramon, nor did he care to. At the very least, the general consensus seemed to be to stay out of it. Which was good, he really didn't need the headache.

Finally, he shut down his laptop, took a shower, changed his clothes, and headed back to Hawaii. He was back on vacation again, hopefully he could relax for a while this time.

I understand that many of you are upset right now. I'm not going to argue that point, but I will make some things perfectly clear:

-My world is not the nexus. We don't live in some lawless, chaotic neutral zone with just an anti-violence field to keep things from getting too out of hand. We have governments, and those governments have laws.

-I am a Federal Agent. It's my job to enforce the laws of the United States of America of my earth. Actually, it's more than a job. It's an honor, a duty, and a responsibility that I take very seriously. Being a Big Damn Hero is what I do in my spare time. While I am allowed a certain amount of personal discretion in terms of enforcing those laws, there are things I can't overlook.

-Salazar is a terrorist. Not a suspected terrorist. Not someone we think might be a terrorist maybe. He is a terrorist, meaning he actually has committed an act of international terror against my government. This is a fact.

-Knowingly harboring and sheltering a terrorist, even "outside the territory of the United States", is a crime against the US. And, yes, Hips knew Salazar was a terrorist before she started dating him

By arresting Hips and Salazar, I have acted within the boundaries of the authority and responsibilities of my job. Further more, while this situation is unfortunate, I will not apologize for doing my job.

I'd also like to note that neither Claire, Chris, Becky, Jill, Kevin, or anyone else assisted me in this, much less knew what I was going to do.

Leon had been having a rather quiet day thus far. He didn't do much, other than look up places that rent out jetskis and ask for prices, which left him a lot of time to think. Far too much time, honestly.

Current Mood: like shit

It's rare that Leon actually gets a chance to relax, but now that he has a chance to do that on a relatively consistent basis, he's not going to let it pass. The beach house, by now, has largely become his home away from home. If he's not at work, working out, or somewhere else playing hero, then that's where he can be found.

Claire was currently inside, taking a nap, so Leon was outside, taking in some sun and flipping through a few magazines that were lying around.

It's been over a year since I started playing Leon here on LJ. Looking back, I can definitely say I've come a long way with him. I have you all to thank for that, with our ever expanding RErp, but I have to thank Dru especially, because there's no way I'd have played Leon this much without her.

This really won't make much of a difference to anyone, really, but I'm letting everyone know.

For all RE canon/survival horror based plot driven RP, I'll be posting in

survivinghorror. While Leon will still retain and acknowledge nexus rp history and events, there'll be a minimum of "Nexus lol" going on in that particular comm.

For all RE-centric plot driven nexus stuff, I'll be posting in

nexus_outbreak.

For smaller, more character driven stuff, I'll be using this lj.

This isn't any kind of "Fuck the nexus! I'm going home!" kind of thing, but since this rp has grown a lot, it's good to have central locations for the action, and for OOC discussion, rather than have to wade through 95 different character journals or hunt people down on AIM.
