Spain (edited)

Leon's trip to Spain turned up something interesting, something very interesting indeed.
It turned up... Nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.
There wasn't a single undead creature in the village, Salazar's castle was completely abandoned, Saddler's Island was empty. No deranged muttering of a single ganado, not a single hiss of a Novistador, no Garradors, or an Gigante. There wasn't even a single wolf to try and hunt him down.
Saddler had fled. And taken all his little pets with him.
And Leon allowed it happen.
If he had only acted sooner...
He wouldn't dwell on that, though. Instead he returned to Saddler's labs to see if he could salvage something. Sadly, there wasn't a whole lot left behind there either. Well, not a whole lot that was useful. There were a ton of failed experiments left in cold storage or in some sort of stasis tubes that were spread around the labs, but most of the ongoing experiments had been moved as well. Most of the lab equipment was still intact, but the computer terminals, the ones that were still functional (and a few had their hard drives removed), had little to no data on them.
At least it seemed that way. Leon decided to take a closer look. Saddler and his ganados were in a hurry, so they had to make some mistakes while moving. And, eventually, Leon found that mistake. While they did delete massive chunks of data, they forgot to delete the backups of said data. Most of the data was research notes that Leon couldn't begin to make heads or tales of, despite recognizing some of the beasts on there. One thing he could at least recognize right away, though, were the blueprints and design specs for the Plaga Removal Laser.
He copied the data onto a few of the remaining hard drives and took those with him, then deleted the last of the info that was left on the lab computers. If Leon could find it, he shuddered to think what someone like Wesker would do with this kind of data if he waltzed in here.
Leon was set to go straight to Washington and drop this off, but as he thought about what he had, he decided he needed to make a few stops first.

((You can post here at your convenience, or, also when you're ready, have him swing by her apartment in her most recent getting-ready post, causing no end of "are all the guns locked away?"))

((I was still thinking in terms of this from finalgirl's plot thread:))
((Yeah, Hunnigan would have to haul Leon off for questioning, which would be a fun scene. Leon would be willing to explain to her, in private, why he can't explain to the Powers That Be about the nexus. Of course, what she does with that info...))
((And if Leon shows up with information from back in Spain, while he's supposed to be on leave and nobody knew he was even leaving the country (with all these magical disappearances Leon's pulling, I'm sure they're watching the airports quite closely,) there will be Questions.))

((I do get the feeling you're losing interest (might be business or distraction, I don't know.) If that's the case, it's not a problem, but I would like to know for sure so I can come up with something else.))
((It's just I was under the impression we plotted this as Plan A, hence the hanging around you about it.))

Date: 2006-02-16 11:25 pm (UTC)And Leon would tell her, but it's not like he'd just go "Hey, Hunnigan, guess what? I found this thing called the nexus!" If pressed into a corner, he'd explain, but she'd have to make it a point that he's in really deep shit.
This would be easier if we could talk over IM, since I don't frequently check comments from back posts, and I don't have comments emailed to me. I can easily miss them at first. I know you have problems with AIM, do you have Yahoo?))
