For a period of time that I'm not yet able to determine, I was held captive by an unknown party. I was kept in some kind of stasis, and only recently was released from that. Where I've ended up doesn't seem to be any better.
I'm not alone.
I'd estimate there are thousands of people still in stasis, and a small number, somewhere between 100-150 people, were released. Most of the other captives range from ages 16-50,though I've been told that there was at least one small child here. Apparently people are released in groups of 10-20 at a time. I appear to be part of the 7th group to be released.
I don't know exactly where I am, and there have been few clues. Whoever my captors are, they have access to advanced technology and bio engineering. The place is run by an advanced AI known as Stacy and the walls themselves seem to be alive. In addition, in lieu of clothing, captives are forced to wear some kind of some kind of symbiotic plant-suit, or be forced to walk around naked. Wearing the suit shows no ill-effects thus far, but its unknown what long-term exposure can do.
According to Stacy, I'm on a ship of some sort. The other captives believe this with little question, but this facility has to be well over a mile long and a height of upwards of a thousand feet. In addition, there seems to be no swaying that's the hallmark of a sea vessel, though the size of this structure may have something to do with that. There's one window located on the upper levels, and all it ever shows are various stars, though I haven't been able to make out any constellations. This has led most of the captives to believe that this is really a space ship of some kind. Even after everything I've seen, though, I don't buy that.
If I had to guess, the stars out the window are fake, just like the artificial sunlight projected in other parts of this place. I'd also guess that I'm not on a ship, but on some kind of compound on land, that's just based on the sheer size of the place.
Stacy is the closest thing that there is to a guard here. I've been warned that there are dangers lurking around, but nothing specific to act on. Otherwise, aside from several sections being sealed off, we have freedom to roam around as we choose, and even have access to a weapons locker. I was even able to retrieve this smartphone, but outside of keeping notes, it's not of much use. It's set to the factory defaults, so it can't even give me the correct date and time, its devoid of all my contacts, and no service signal can penetrate wherever I am.
Why we have access to all this firepower and all these recreational facilities is beyond me. This is almost like some demented country club prison, or some kind of twisted social experiment. Food, games, and the occasional threat to keep us on our toes and force us into action.
We've been provided food, mostly in the form of a tasteless slop, and water. Its disgusting, but still better than starving to death.
As stated previously, others believe that they're on a spaceship, and thus have adopted a similar naval-based command structure. A woman by the name of Cybil Bennet is Captain, but the title itself is mostly perfunctory. She has no control over this location, but seems to hold sway over most of the remaining captives.
Her second in command is a man knows as "Master Chief". He's military, and likely the kind of man you don't want to mess with. He's in charge of security, and I would assume he's Bennet's top enforcer.
At the least, they seem sincere about keeping everyone safe and getting everyone out of here. So long as they are, I'll assist in any way I can.
In addition, I need to scout out more intel on any threats lurking within this area.Possibly related to that, there's a twelve year old girl that's recently gone missing. I don't know what the Master Chief is doing about it, but I'll look into that myself. I'm also attempting to get my hands on a map of some kind.
And I'd kill for a pair of pants right now.
