OOC - Interim Plot Stuff

Since the RP has kind of stalled into a holding pattern for various reasons, and I figure most of us aren't really content with sitting on our hands for the time being, I've thought up a few ideas to play out in the interim.

I've been think that, instead of taking a "Let's shoot shit" approach to the RP, we take a more investigative approach. Which makes a certain amount of sense since Leon is a cop(well, he was, even if just for a day), and the bulk of the REtards are/were cops as well. Cops don't solve every problem by kicking down the door and shooting people (well, they do in certain neighborhoods, but I digress).

So rather than a direct assault on one of Wesker's bases (which would be foolish, considering that Leon knows that Wesker knows that they would be coming), Leon would have one team go to Savannah to search for any clues about where he might have actually taken Chris. Whatever they find there could lead to raids/surgical strikes on a few of Wesker's other bases (ones he wouldn't expect the REtards to hit), which would lead to more clues and more strikes until Dave is ready for them to find Chris. In essence, instead of blindly charging headfirst into whatever trap Wesker has waiting for them, Leon would rather they go around it.

Also, as another plot, investigating Reno. Leon isn't buying Reno's "I wanna be a REtard!" routine. At all. Up until now he's only voiced his concern to Hunnigan, though he'll ask other people to start investigating Reno, particularly his connection to Midgar. He'll also want people to look into Midgar in general, since Leon knows (from Baofu) that Wesker is interested in something there called "Mako" and that might be the point of connection between Reno and Wesker. But even if it's not, if they can bring a grinding halt to Wesker's Mako supply line (or to construction of the Umbrella/Shinra facility), it's all good.

Anyway, thoughts? Plots to add? Suggestions? Questions?

Edited to Add: redheadednobody (Axel from Kingdom Hearts) would like to get involved in our rp. At the moment, though, I can't think of a way to fit him in off the top of my head. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on that, feel free.

Axel could always get involved in the upcoming Great Ganado War that, while not RIGHT now, is up and coming and is going to be open to many. It'd be a good introduction spot to meet some of the REtards and get in good with them.

Unless, of course, you're looking to be more of an antagonist. Then you should talk to Wesker's, or even Saddler's, mun.

Unfortunately, I don't know exactly what's in the Shinra documents, other than a disc and some papers regarding Rufus. That'd be something you need to prod Tony about.

I can, however, help out a bit with the drafting of other files-- lab reports, security memos, etc. I think it'd be really cool to be able to do more than just mention "lol file," but actually have people reading the RP be able to reference the files characters are talking about.

EXACTLY. Check Pro_voice's file memories; I am all about the writing up of stuff in attempted OMG GOVERNMENT FORMAT for people to use. Not so much has been used yet, but it's there.

I'd be willing to help with that too. As a many-time GM for tabletop games, I've become adept at drafting up prop reports and files for the players to actually read and hold, rather than me just go, "LOL, it says this"

I like the idea of Hunnigan and Eiko teaming up to be the REtard version of Oracle. Hunnigan has all the useful database knowledge and access to intl, while Eiko has the technical side of things (system hacking and codebreaking) covered.

Derek wouldn't be able to participate in a long term sneak around like this due to his own responsibilities in Utoland, but he would still be willing to keep an eye out from his POV in the Nexus or other places.

Well, here are a few ideas from me:

1) There is an NPC by the name of Jack Hamilton. Some of you may have seen this name tossed around at times by me. He is Chris's contact in the FBI. He's a high ranking Special Agent. In the near future, HUNK is going to kill Hamilton and take over his identity to gather information. Since nobody other than Chris knows what Hamilton looks like, no one will be the wiser. And it will take some serious hacking and stuff like that for anyone to find out any different. Note that he's not going to do anything to raise suspicion. Just ask typical FBI stuff, and relate to the group because he's a "friend" of Chris's. Alyssa Ashcroft and Kevin Ryman will be his first targets to question and pump for information, since Alyssa has made a giant case against Umbrella and did everything but hand out pamphlets in the Nexus about it, and because Ryman runs his mouth to anyone and everyone about Umbrella and it's "evils".

2) Just so everyone understands, Chris isn't going to be rescued when I come back. He's going to escape on his own, which will lead to some interesting developments regarding your favorite hero. :)

3) Another idea that I had was this. Maybe Umbrella could put together footage and evidence of Claire going batshit on their facilities, along with stuff from Au raccoon, and use their front companies and ties in the white house to declare the REtards as industrial terrorists? Everyone but Leon. :) Knowing that would fall flat, they would spare Leon from being made out to be a terrorist. However, with his position in the government, along with his familiarity with Umbrella and such, he would probably be asked to bring these "terrorists" to justice. Would Leon be able to choose between his friends and his career? This one is totally just an idea I thought of, nothing set in stone for this to happen at all. However, the first two are concrete. Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames?

1) Becky and Leon have both seen HUNK with his mask off. Though, considering that the room was filled with tear gas at the time (and it was a while ago), they probably wouldn't remember it well. At the very least it could lead to a funny scene of them going

Leon: Do I know you?
HUNK Hamilton: Don't think we've met, no.
Leon: ...hn.
Leon: Are you sure? Because you look familiar...
HUNK Hamilton: I don't recall us meeting. Perhaps Chris has mentioned me.

So long as he doesn't do anything obvious, Leon won't raise any questions.

3) Well, so long as it's the front companies making complaints, and not Umbrella Inc.™, that plan could work (since the general public knows Umbrella is responsible for destroying Raccoon City). Sort of with the theory that the people who helped take down Umbrella haven't stopped, and have now gone too far in their efforts, and Leon has to help rein them in.

There have been many an idea outlining what we could do for the time being, and I wholeheartedly agree with the investigation angle of things. It'll be a great chance to get some more cooperation between Baofu and the rest of the group, no matter how much he doesn't like them.

Wesker and Reno's d00dz are building a base in Midgar, which the REtards could check out (and maybe halt the construction of it). They could gather information from there, and maybe find out more about Reno? Maybe even find him there doing Villanous Things? :O

Also, on Dave's idea of the whole REtard "terrorist" thing... That would be an interesting development! We should consider this.

Jill just stole a ton of information from Reno, although doesn't know what's real and what's been fabricated-- that'd be a job for Hunnigan to figure out. Anyone else who wants to help out with that, we can figure something out. Jill can't go through that big 'ol box of stuff by herself.

As for Axel, I'd love to see him in with the RP. Will he be more villanous? More good-aligned? Kind of in between? I wish I knew more about KH. >.> Either way, there are plenty of opportunites for him to get involved, though Nexus interaction as well as open posts in character journals.

Since Jill is suspicious of Reno also, she can be on the team going to Midgar.

So here is the thing, there is a lot of holes in Shinra information since the company went BOOM when Meteor hit. Of course, if you all are confused, take a gander here for Shinra information, or just contact me as xitalianmenacex for all your Shinra-Related needs.

Basically, Rufus has been pronounced dead, though no one is completely sure. His body disappeared after it was sent into the hospital over two years ago. So, basically, Reno has been trying to hold things together for a while. However, since Rude fell down with Geostigma, he has gone to the Nexus for help. Thus, the connection with Albert Wesker.

Wesker and him have deal. They'll combine forces if Reno works for Wesker and Wesker works for Reno. Reno wants a new Shinra INC and Wesker wants a new Umbrella. Reno wants a cure for Geostigma, and Wesker wants more Mako. You see how it works?

No doubt, as time progresses, Shinra items will be rebuilt. The Sister Ray is under construction as we plot. So, yeah.

...Disregard my previous statement, I... *ahem* Anyway, I see that Axel-mun already spoiled the part I was afraid to spoil by linking to the Organization XIII Wiki. Thus, I can spoil all I want. Haw.

Anyways, what needs to be remembered is that Axel is no human. He's a Nobody, something that looks human, but has no heart and is incapable of feeling emotions. Like a Tin Man from Wizard of Oz, but with flesh.

All Nobodies want to get hearts. That's why Organization is created in the first place, they're trying to create hearts for themselves.

If Umbrella would somehow get information about that, they could easily approach Axel and tell him they could get him a heart. Of course, they wouldn't mention that Axel would end up as a lab rat in the process, but that's Umbrella for you. In exchange, Axel is supposed to join them and finish off the REtards. With them out of the picture, he'll get his side of the deal. Even if not in the same form as he hopes.

Axel could be tempted by the idea and join Umbrella. Somewhere along the way, he could realize he was tricked and switch sides. Or not, depending on what the player wants from him.

Hmmm... I'm trying to make up something that would work with Axel and having problems. Seeing how Axel is very random, he could just join up with the REtards after several conversations... But it feels like it doesn't have enough passion plot-wise.

All in all, it's Axel-mun's choice. I'm out of ideas. :|


PS Also, while I'm at it - Ether's still amnesiac and no one ever told him where his apartment is or where his loyalties lie. So if Umbrella wants themselves a killer death robot, they're free to offer him work at any time.
