Leon doesn't talk much to Ether, but since he's ok by Claire so he's ok with him. It slightly unnerved him at first when Ether started calling Leon "Commander" during the big battle in AU!Raccoon city, since Leon just put himself in charge because someone needed to be.
Most he can figure about Ether is that he's a capable warrior, but a bit of a snarky know-it-all at times.
