I had to put one (don't remember which) to bed before the other, so obviously nothing could be done; then, however, the burglar came and woke everyone up after two hour's worth of sleep for each.

Cops find the nearest Sim when there's been a burglar, and come stand around for a moment before those words pop up. So it's not quiiiiite as bad as it looks.

Sims are my crack anti-drug.
